Last year, we did a piece on 10 Humiliating Reasons People Have Been Arrested. Since then, people are still getting arrested for ridiculous reasons so here are some new stories for your entertainment. (And ours.)

Man Arrested For Lighting Cigarette with a Torch

A dude who takes style tips from Jesus, harmlessly used the fire from a torch that was burning in front of him at a 2010 Olympic Torch Relay to light his cigarette. Moments later, he was beaten down and arrested by police.

The Case Of The Marshmallow Bandit

Hope Clark, a teacher’s aide from Wyoming, was erroneously accused of failing to pay a year-old fine of $50 she received for leaving a bag of marshmallows at Yellowstone National Park. The park has strict rules about food storage, in order to minimize the risk of bears and other wildlife invading the campground. Clark paid her fine, (she wasn’t allowed to leave the premise without doing so) however, one year later, while she was vacationing on a cruise ship, she was rousted from her cabin at 6:30 am by federal agents. The sweet-toothed offender was handcuffed and put in detention for 9 hours, despite her claim that she had paid the fine. As it turns she did pay the fine and all the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement could say was “We were acting on what we believed was accurate information”.

Razor’s Edge

A Florida woman named Megan Barnes was on her way to see her boyfriend in Key West but seemingly didn’t have enough time to properly groom her “fur burger” before leaving the house. Thinking she could kill two birds with one stone, she decided she’d give herself a quick bikini line shave while behind the wheel. As one might have guessed, the 37 year old crashed into the back of a pickup truck but did drive another half-mile before being pulled over. Perhaps she thought she was being precautious by having her ex-husband hold the wheel from the passenger’s seat while she mowed the lawn. (Why her ex-husband was accompanying her to her new man’s place just adds to the absurdity of taking a sharp razor to your vagina in a moving vehicle.) Barnes was arrested, ealready driving with a suspended license, just one day after she was convicted of driving under the influence.

Penis… I Mean… Order in the Court!

Donald Thompson, a former Creek County judge who spent almost 23 years on the bench was convicted of exposing himself while presiding over jury trials. His former court reporter, Lisa Foster, testified that she saw Thompson expose himself at least 15 times with a penis pump under his robe during trials that took place between 2001 and 2003. She also told authorities that she saw him use his pump almost daily during the August 2003 murder trial of a man accused of shaking a toddler to death. Prosecutors also came forward stating that they had seen him use the penis pump during at least four trials. Police built a case against the judge after a police officer testifying in a 2003 murder trial saw a piece of plastic tubing disappear under Thompson’s robe. While he was away on a lunch break, officers took photographs of the pump they found under his desk. Investigators later checked the carpet, Thompson’s robes and the chair behind the bench and found semen. He was sentenced to four years in prison.

No Farting In The Classroom

A 13 year old student was arrested after he passed gas and turned off his classmate’s computers. According to the report released by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, the boy “continually disrupted his classroom environment by purposely breaking wind”. A school resource officer placed the boy under arrest after he confessed.
